Financial Freedom Is Merely Organized Common Sense
Talk is cheap. That speaks to the economic idea of supply and demand. Anything in vast supply with small demand will be cheap.
Hollow words are especially useless. Words not consistent with actions are confusing for the observant and lead the unobservant on a wrong path.
Words inconsistent with behaviour cause mistrust. Mistrust eventually leads to cynicism and cynicism is very difficult to move away from.
Be cautious lest you lead others to cynicism. Be yourself skeptical and a critical thinker. Try to see the germ of reality in everything spoken. Recognize the misleading shell. If nothing else, it will allow you to build better arguments.
Yet their words and actions mismatch.
Consider what politicians say and do.
Words for the purpose of virtue signalling have negative value.
You can lie with words, but most action is honest. Every father has told every daughter that the way a man treats a waiter is instructive of his ability to deal with others. Narcissists and psychopaths are readily identifiable.
Actions tell the truth. if someone tells you who they are by their actions, believe them.
“I can’t believe what you say, because I see what you do.” James Baldwin
Understand hypocrisy – “the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform”
Everything devolves to meaning. If the words and action are different, the meaning usually is the words lie. You can dismiss the thought and doubt the value of the person in future. Understanding meaning, and acting on what you observe, is a strong move.
The thought could be reworded to deal with any priority
“I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who claim it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis.”
